A Young Sophomore's Dream

There's nothing I would love more than being my own boss. Of course, such a simple statement is actually a big dream plus hard work. But still it is really tempting to have a business on my own.

Since I will be bonded in this company until next year, my life plan has definitely need to adjust. I have planned to leave my IT job by the age of 30 (which is like a couple of months away). So far my life milestones were not far off the target. Alhamdulillah.

I still remember back in my Sociology class by Mr. Adnan in MCC. On the very first day of class, he asked us to picture ourselves 10 years from then and write down where we see we are. All these 20-year-olds started to scribble something -- a 10-year future projection of who they are and where will they be. Seated beside me was my ex, he actually peeped through my writings. And he was smiling to himself. As if what I wrote down is too much of a projection.

Hmm...I guessed I am pretty much where I pictured myself to be at the age of 30. With Fatin and Syabil, a Kelisa, a Software Manager position; I am my own woman and a mother. Now I have to think of a new set of goals, and this time it will have my children in the picture. And of course, setting aside some fundamental ideas of starting my own business. I don't have that many days left in my countdown. Have to start putting my thinking cap to serious mode.

" I will be a career woman with 2 children by the age of 30. " What a statement. A dream of a 20-year old sophomore.
