Another School Day Story
This morning I dreadfully woke Fatin up, knowing deep in my heart that she will not give up easily. And I was right. The moment she opened up her eyes, she asked me "Nak pegi mana?" And I said "Sekolah laa..hari ni kan hari Isnin". And she started crying and crying. Hubby tried to sweet-talk her. Slowly persuading her to take shower and get dress. And she kept on refusing.
Until we had to take a drastic measure. Hubby said, "Kalau tak pegi sekolah, no cartoon". And he went on fuddling with thet Astro remote control. This morning we learned how to set a pin to the channels to control viewing. This morning we exercise our parental rights. Looking at me, she cried harder. And at that time it was already 8 am.
Hubby tried to pujuk again and this time he promised that Ayah and Ummi will be there with her in her class. I had to sms my PM and told her that I will be on emergency leave this morning and will only be in the office after lunch. Then she said, "Atin nak sekolah", in her sobs. Taking it as a go that I was waiting for, I quickly ran upstairs to get her uniforms and school bag. Bibik also quickly get her showered and dressed. She was ready in less than 10 minutes. After a few suap of nasi lemak, we asked her to get in the car. It was already 8:30 am. She wanted Bibik and Syabil to come along with her to school. So the whole troop went into the car to go to school. Termasukla Adik (the cool guy) yang muka comot belum mandi.
At the gate, she started dilly-dallying. I was already standing inside the school, when she started crying again. We tried to pujuk her to go in, but still FAILED! After tugging for about 15 minutes, Hubby finally scooped her up and took her to her class. The five-year-olds downstairs were watching "our drama". Some of them started to get teary eyed. I think it's a chained effects.
We could still hear her wailing on our way down. We got back home, worried what would happen. Takut pulak cikgu kena cakar muka. So we waited, and waited. I tried calling her teacher but she didn't pick up my call. Until, about 10 am, I got an sms from her teacher. She told me that Fatin has stopped crying and now learning her Mandarin. At 11:30 am, she was dropped home. Hubby waited outside for "support". She got off the car with a SMILE.
Legaa....
Then I asked her, "Esok pegi sekolah nak nangis lagi tak?". And she said, "Nak!"
Oh no!!
To be continued?? I hope not...but we shall see.
