Raya Chronology
Raya Day 1
We celebrated Hari Raya 2005 at my MIL house. We went back after buka puasa on the Deepavali day. Raya was OK. The usual salam-peluk-cium-nangis stuffs. Duit raya this year tak banyak sangat. Mostly gave RM1. After the salam session, makan ketupat laaa...apa lagi. And so we eat and eat and eat. Cuma this year tak puas makan lodeh.
Raya Day 2
My hubby's Pak Long's second daughter got engaged at her grandma's house. Our Opah wanted to be there early, for whatevar reasons. So we all went there by 10 in the morning. My bad, I brought Syabil along. Having Fatin around was not so bad because she's as "grown up" as she is, dah pandai main sendiri. But Syabil was another case. Since we were early, and it was Friday, we had to wait for the groom-to-be families to arrive at the next door neighbour's house. And they only arrived at 3:30 pm, after the Friday's prayers. Imagine the waiting hours. Syabil dah biasa tidur dengan buaian, so member tak senang laaa...buaian takde. He just took a 30-minutes nap. Lucky my kids are the types who "tahan mata". Nasib tak meragam sebab tak tidur siang. Hmm...no more long Raya trips for my baby. I always wonder how everybody else's kids can just sleep at a corner, not minding the noise, heat, buzzes around them. When will I ever be that lucky? Hmmm...
Raya Day 3
In the morning we went to hubby's Mak Lang's house in Teluk Intan. Tengah syok makan kuih raya Fatin nak poo-poo pulak. Ishk..leceh betul. Nasib baik kat rumah sedara. Now, she has got this habit to go poo-poo anywhere. I want to instill in her that we should only poo-poo at certain places. As we all know, Malaysian public toilets are DIRTY or VERY DIRTY. I want to train my daughter to feel uncomfortable to go poo-poo at public places. Tapi kesian pulak when she has to control the urges.
Kak Yang and Nasrul planned to have a BBQ session in the afternoon. Nasrul's families arrived around 6:30 pm. By the time all the chicken, fish and mutton dah marinated. Tiba-tiba Kak Yang rasa macam dah turun tanda. Her EDD was supposed to be 8th of November. Some people said first birth always comes later than the EDD. Dah la sumer orang start to buzz around. The baby waited for just the right time when everybody in the family has arrived before announcing its arrival. We forced her to est the BBQ chicken and some eggs for energy. And yes, she needed it. She gave birth to a 2.6kg baby boy at 2:02 am. The boy is named Nazrin Shah.
Today, I am back at work. And the whole cycle shall begin. 271 days to go and I still have not come up with the 2006 resolution.
